IC FOR Peace

  • The Inland Communities Chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (IC FOR) is an organization that seeks to replace violence, war, intolerance, economic and social injustice with nonviolence, peace and justice.

An array of peaceful ways

Peace is more than the absence of war; it is the foundation necessary to collectively tackle humanity’s challenges. It is the lived experience of safety, dignity, opportunities, and cooperation in our daily lives.

IC FOR Peace

The Inland Communities Chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (IC FOR) is an organization that seeks to replace violence, war, intolerance, economic and social injustice with nonviolence, peace and justice.

Inspiration

We draw inspiration from many faiths, systems of belief and philosophies and are committed to active nonviolence as a way of life and as a means of building hope and creating profound social change.

Building Community

We are dedicated to healing divisions in society through reconciliation and community building. As youth and adults we learn and educate to build coalitions and to engage in nonviolent and compassionate actions.

A Legacy of Positive Change

Founded in response to the horrors of war in Europe, the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR) has taken a consistent stance against war and its preparation since its beginning in 1914.

Shared Vision

ICFOR members share a vision of a world where conflicts are resolved through nonviolent means, where systems that foster fear and hatred are dismantled, and where justice is sought as a basis for peace.

Diversity + Commonality

While coming from diverse religious backgrounds, we have a common belief in the transforming power of nonviolence and reconciliation.

Peace is not just made at conference tables, but in classrooms, neighbourhoods, and everywhere people meet with open minds and open hearts. Together, day by day, we can build a more just world, with compassion, equality and dignity for all.
